If you’re stuck for party ideas for your child’s next birthday or you’ve already done all the standard children’s party options, a bush birthday is a unique experience that will leave your little one, and their friends, feeling full of life and running home with joyful cries of ‘you won’t believe the things we got to do!’.
Our Bush Birthdays are a combination of well-resourced nature activities and free, unstructured play designed to bring children alive and experience the thrill and freedom of ‘just being kids’ with mud on their noses and daisy chains in their hair. You are free to join in or relax knowing they’re in safe hands.

What bush birthdays look like.
Every bush birthday party is tailored to the age of the children attending with a range of pre-planned activities. We’ll let you in on a secret though - the real magic happens when we tap into their joy and wonder. Children’s imaginations are bigger than our planning! We foster their lead to a joyful flurry of wild, untamed fun, adventure and creativity. To tailor your special day, choose 2 or 3 of these ideas that your child will love:
• Fire lighting and campfire cooking
• Using pullies, ropes and knot skills to make catapults and swings
• Bush craft and weaving activities
• Whittling appropriate to age and abilities
• Clay play and mixing potions
• Making birthday mud pies
• Cubby building with natural materials
• Nature walks with magnifying glasses
• A billy tea or hot chocolate

Our party sessions run for 2 hours of supervised play time.

Have you heard the old saying, “There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing?” Well, this is the philosophy we go by! We are an all-weather program, in fact we find the wet days make for the most fun and adventure.
We do make a temporary tarp shelter when needed, but given that Hobart is the second driest capital city in Australia, we find rarely need to cancel for rain. If it is predicted there will be severe rain, wind, or fire, we will cancel 24-48 hours in advance and offer a full refund or credit.
When inviting your children’s friends to the party it’s a good idea to tell them to bring warm clothes, a rain coat, sun hat or beanie (depending on the season) and a change of clothes just in case!

No, we do not supply food. We do supply all equipment needed and first aid qualified staff who are talented nature playworkers.
